How NFC works, which phones support it, branding, changing links, pricing and support.
What is NFC and how does it work?
NFC (near-field communication) is short-range wireless technology, the same kind used for contactless payments. Our cards and stands contain a chip that stores a link. When an NFC-enabled phone comes within a few centimetres, it offers to open that link.
Do customers need to install an app?
No app is needed on phones that read NFC tags natively, which includes iPhone XS and newer and most Android phones with NFC switched on. Anyone can scan the printed QR code with their camera instead.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. iPhone XS and newer read NFC automatically when the screen is on; iPhone 7 to X use the NFC reader in Control Center. Most Android phones support NFC once it is enabled in settings. The QR code works on any phone with a camera.
Is there a QR code as well?
Yes. Cards and stands carry a printed QR code that opens the same link, for phones without NFC or with NFC switched off.
Can I add my logo and brand colours?
Custom branding options depend on the product and quantity. Mention your requirements when you order or request a quote and we will confirm what is possible.
Can I change the link after I receive the product?
Yes. The destination is managed from your QwiqTap account, so you can update it without replacing the card or stand.
How much does it cost?
Digital business card plans are billed yearly in AED and listed on the pricing page. Physical products are priced per item, with business quotes for larger orders.
Do you handle bulk and corporate orders?
Yes. Request a business quote with your quantities, number of branches or headcount, and we will reply with pricing and setup options.
